Hi I'm Jo a private self employed counsellor supporting clients from my office at home alongside my work as a school counsellor. This enables me to have varied clients which also include couples.My private practice has also took me into EAP work. I worked in a school before becoming a counsellor where I was a T.A, supported SEN children and then went into pastoral.

About me and my practice

I am very flexible within my practice & can adapt to my clients if they want to do remote counselling. I usually work during the week up to 20.00 along with accommodating clients on a Saturday up to lunchtime. Sessions are 50m and I do concessionary rates at £40, adults £45 and couples are £55. I am fully insured and have a DBS.
I do all my remote work via the Google meet platform
I have worked with a diverse set of clients some being neurodiverse,LGBT,Young people, elders,Students and young people & I would say the most common issue being depression & anxiety.

Experience

During my placement I worked for a well known charity where I had to complete voluntary hours as part of my course along with various courses which informed my counselling practice.
During my work as a counsellor I had to facilitate clients during covid so had to adhere to new ways of working which was remote counselling of which I have been trained in.
I know that remote is a flexible way for lots of people not only with a busy work life but for people with disabilities, so counselling became more accessible & inclusive for everyone.

Qualifications

Level 3 counselling studies
Advanced diploma level 5 in counselling
Various CPD courses attended.safeguarding,bereavement, suicide,domestic violence, sexual assault,couples,adhd/autism & mental health, bulling in the workplace, self - harm,to name a few.
